The Golden Transport
Gulltransporten (The Golden Transport) tells the story of the brave Norwegians who risked their lives to transport 50 tons of gold out of Oslo during World War II. Travel to Romsdalen for a trip down a historic lane and to see the mesmerising beauty for yourself.
Part of the dangerous journey took part on Rauma Railway in Romsdalen. At Åndalsnes Train Station you will recognise the scene where the train pulled in and the soldiers unloaded the precious cargo under the constant threat of attack.
In the movie you can feel the tension as the Norwegians frantically load the gold onto trucks and then onto the train, while enemy bombs rain around them.
